NIC हरियाणा ने कर्मचारियों की भलाई और अंतर-राज्य सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ‘NIC-ट्राइसिटी स्पोर्ट्स एंड रिक्रिएशन इवेंट 2026’ का आयोजन किया।

CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 18, 2026
In alignment with government welfare objectives promoting physical fitness, mental health, and team cohesion, National Informatics Centre (NIC) Haryana successfully organised the NIC Tricity Sports & Recreation Event (Badminton) 2026 at the Indoor Badminton Hall, Directorate of Sports, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The event brought together officers, staff, and their families from NIC Haryana, NIC Punjab, and NIC UT Chandigarh for a day centered on sportsmanship, healthy competition, and inter-state networking. The initiative was conceived to strengthen inter-state collaboration while encouraging a culture of sports and wellness among NIC employees.
Key Highlights & Event Objectives
• Inter-State Coordination: The tournament provided a joint platform for officers across the three Tricity State Centres to interact beyond routine administrative duties, fostering stronger professional and interpersonal bonds.
• Tournament Categories: Competitions were organised across multiple categories, including Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
• Focus on Employee Wellness: Organised under employee welfare objectives, the event emphasised work-life balance, physical fitness, and stress mitigation through organized sports.

Formal Inauguration and Group Assembly
The event commenced with a welcoming address by Mrs. Usha Rai, Additional State Informatics Officer (ASIO-State), NIC Haryana. She formally welcomed the Chief Guests: Sh. Sarbjeet Singh, State Informatics Officer (SIO), NIC Haryana, and Sh. Vivek Verma, State Informatics Officer (SIO), NIC Punjab, presenting them with floral bouquets.
Following the inaugural session, participants assembled for an official group photograph before the commencement of match fixtures. The tournament format encouraged active networking among participants from different State Centres.
Competitive Matches & Sportsmanship
Throughout the day, high-spirited and exciting matches were witnessed across multiple badminton courts. Participants demonstrated remarkable skill, agility, and sportsmanship. The state-of-the-art indoor sports facilities at Panjab University provided an excellent venue for the tournament, contributing significantly to its smooth conduct.

Valedictory Ceremony and Felicitation
The sports meet concluded with a formal valedictory and felicitation ceremony. Winners and runners-up across all event categories were presented with medals and commendation certificates by SIO NIC Haryana and SIO NIC Punjab. Participation certificates were also distributed to all players in recognition of their active involvement and sporting spirit.
A Sustainable Initiative for Employee Welfare
The organizing committee expressed formal gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and supporting staff for contributing to the success of the event. The NIC Tricity Sports & Recreation Event 2026 successfully demonstrated how sports can promote teamwork, collaboration, and employee well-being.
