Two-days DIO Convention and Technical Training Workshop organized By NIC Haryana “Haryana Ka Digital Vikas – NIC Ke Saath” (20th – 21st March 2025)

National Informatics Centre (NIC) Haryana organized a two-days TechMeet on March 20th and 21st 2025, at Hotel Shivalikview, Chandigarh. The event, attended by the DIOs and officers posted at NIC Haryana State Unit, provided an exceptional platform for deliberating on the latest technological advancements in IT Industry and various ICT projects successfully developed and implemented by NIC.

The TechMeet began with the welcome address by Sh. Deepak Bansal, DDG and SIO Haryana followed by an inspiring inaugural address by Shri Vikas Gupta (IAS), Commissioner and Secretary (Citizen Resource Information Department), Govt. of Haryana, who shared his pleasant experience of working with NIC at various levels in providing citizen-centric services. He applauded the unwavering contribution of NIC in the digital development of Haryana.

Mr. Rajesh Mishra, DDG who is currently heading the Cyber Security and Information Security Audit Group of NIC, made his presentation on Cyber Security and Hygiene and described in detail the impressive initiatives being taken by NIC in this field. He also answered the queries of the participants present during the discussion.

Various pioneers from the IT Industry like AMD, CISCO, HP-POLYCOM, EnterpriseDB & MICROSOFT also made presentations on the latest technological developments in their respective areas. The discussions revolved around how government organizations can streamline operations, enhance citizen engagement, and safeguard sensitive data through technological advancements.

Sh. I.P.S. Sethi, DG NIC and Dr. Shubhag Chand, DDG, NIC graced the occasion as well during the TechMeet on 21st March, 2025.

On the 2nd day after the welcome address by Sh. Deepak Bansal, DDG and SIO Haryana, Dr. Shubhag Chand, DDG (Pers.) addressed the audience. He appreciated the efforts of NIC Haryana in organizing such an informative and educative DIO TechMeet & also enlightened NIC Officers with valuable feedback and suggestions about various official as well as technical aspects.

It was followed by the address by Sh. I.P.S. Sethi, DG, NIC which was on his first visit to Chandigarh after assuming the charge as Director General NIC. In his speech, Sh. Sethi shared his vision and strategic foresight as a leader of the organisation with the audience. He admired the efforts put in by NIC officers in all spheres of Governance and encouraged them to continue to strive for betterment. DG NIC distributed Awards of Honour to best performing Districts & in other categories as well along with DDG (Pers.). Various Speakers who delivered the Technical Sessions were also honored by the DG, NIC with a memento for their insightful content.

The two-days TechMeet organized by NIC Haryana concluded with a renewed commitment to leveraging technology to reach the public with IT solutions.
