NIC Haryana accords Farewell to Shri Deepak Bansal, SIO & Deputy Director General

NIC Haryana organized a farewell function in the honour of Shri Deepak Bansal, SIO & Deputy Director General who superannuated from NIC Haryana after completing 37 years in various capacities.

Shri Deepak Bansal joined NIC at Himachal State Centre as Scientist-B in the year 1988 and got transferred to NIC Haryana in September 1992 where he served in various positions before elevating to the post of SIO Haryana in 2017.

Sh. Deepak Bansal always aim to improve the citizen experience with government services and to fulfil this goal he initiated various ICT programs and projects. Edisha is one of such projects which was initiated by Mr Bansal and implemented throughout the state during 2006-2007. This benefitted the citizen as single window system which was called edisha kendra or ekal seva kendra to get the various certificates like cast, birth, marriage etc.

The journey of the citizen centric services did not stop here, even it flourished in the form of SARAL Haryana which was one of its kind projects and got the national level recognition. This project is showcase of Mr. Bansal’s visionary leadership and craftsman ship. SARAL was implemented during 2015 -16 and today it delivers more than 800 services.

In 2017 his elevation to the post of SIO Haryana coincided with the period when India was ushering toward digital India. In the covid period when ICT became the backbone of National level services Deepak sir boosted the energy into their employees in this critical time and played a crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic by developing more than 35 IT applications to assist state agencies in managing the crisis.

There are lots of work done and led by him, one more project Parivar Pehchaan Patra (PPP) which is also recognised at National Level with so many appreciations.

During his long and illustrious career as a technocrat, Sh. Deepak Bansal, got felicitated with many National and State level awards.

Few shining stars of his exceptional career are:

CSI-Nihilent excellence awards for IFMS in the year 2005, CSI-Nihilent Award of Excellence for e-Stamping in 2016, CSI-Nihilent Award of Appeciation for Employees Loan Management System in 2017, GeMs digital India Award for IFMS in 2018. For SARAL project team awarded by CSI- NIHILANT e-Governance Award of Excellence 2018,2019, 2020, Digital Leader Award 2018, Gold award in 23rd National Conference on e-Governance 2020, Digital India Award 2020 by Hon’ble President of India. Beside these awards several other projects managed by different HODs in different sector like Agriculture, Education, Revenue, Health, Social Justice Empowerment, court ICT system have been awarded on different platform under the leadership of Sh. Deepak Banal.

Entire NIC Haryana team joined the farewell function including all DIOs and ADIOs. The presence of Sh. IPS Sethi, DDG and NIC Haryana State Coordinator graced the occasion. Sh. Vivek Verma, DDG & SIO NIC, Punjab and Sh. Vikram Jeet Grover, Scientist-F, NIC Punjab were also present on this event.

He was felicitated with a memento and a gift by Sh. IPS Sethi, DDG & Sh. Sarbjeet Singh, DDG on behalf of NIC Haryana.

Shri Bansal also recalled various stages of his career at NIC and thanked NIC Haryana for the warm wishes and farewell.
